Kenya

Julian has been very busy with the kids over the last couple of months. She took them to the post office to see how it operates and to see how we get our mail there. Then they went to the grocery store nearby as they have never been to one. They got to see how the items are placed and how to purchase items.

On other occasions they were allowed to visit the courthouse and experience a trial there. This was a very wonderful time of learning for them. Julian arranged for the trip during proceedings in the court so the children could see how it all works. They were enlightened on how the judicial arm of the government works and learned about the national symbols of Kenya. (Coat of Arms).

A visit to Jaramogi was in store next. This is home of one of Kenya’s former leaders. There is a museum there where the kids learned about the traditional musical instruments, cultural heritage and artifacts about Kenya and the life of former heroes of Kenya’s past days.

The children of FSCC are getting a great education!

Dentist Time!

This month we were able to start taking our children and young adults to the dentist for a cleaning/checkup. Most of the children have never been to a dentist and it was a time of mixed feelings for them.

As a group the children just needed a good cleaning and some random cavities filled. Sadly, there were a couple of teeth pulled as they were beyond repair.

George, one of our boys has serious teeth issues, but he said he never imagined such things could be done to him. He is happy by getting the opportunity to be a beneficiary of the program under FSM. He admitted to the staff at the dental of-fice that he would never have thought he would have a chance to be admitted at the orphanage and he couldn’t even imagine the life that he leads now.

The dentist lady shed tears as he was sharing about his stay at FSCC compared to the life he was leading at his previous home.

Lensa

She is happy and proud that her teeth are sparkling clean and she feels really proud of that.

Moses

He never regrets being at the home and it has made him meet so many people from different corners of the world. He testifies of the Lords goodness and blessings to all the hands that participated in making sure they got dental services.

Psalm 68:5

God is a father of the fatherless and a protector of widows; he sets the lonely in families and leads out the prisoners with singing.

Remember it’s not to early to start thinking about your end of year donations.
We also are seeking donations for our Christmas parties in December for both India and Kenya.
